Six Sigma and Lean Project Implementation

Lean Six Sigma Consulting

If you want to make your workplace more efficient and effective while reducing waste, BTI’s Lean Six Sigma (LSS) consulting service is here to help! We implement Lean Six Sigma as a data-driven, fact-based method of achieving organization goals, including increasing customer satisfaction, reaching corporate financial targets, and measurably improving quality. We do this by helping you implement the best workflow or process to diminish waste while reducing variation, cycle time, and rework.

As process improvement experts, we don’t adopt a cookie-cutter approach to implementing Lean Six Sigma for our clients. While we draw from our experience with other clients in your industry, we know that each business is unique. We asses your business carefully and then create a strategy that’ll help you enjoy quantifiable benefits.

BTI helps your organization implement Lean Six Sigma in two ways:

  1. By deploying our American Society of Quality-certified Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Black Belts to:
    • Improve your existing processes with the LSS Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control problem solving approach and
    • Create and implement new processes with the LSS Define-Measure-Analyze-Design-Verify (DMADV) approach.
  2. By helping you to create, deploy, and sustain an organization-wide Lean Six Sigma quality culture.  We train your personnel as LSS Green and Black Belts and help you implement the LSS-supporting infrastructure to make LSS part of how you do business.

What Are the Benefits of Hiring BTI as Your Lean Six Sigma Consultant?

  1. Cost Savings: At Business Transformation Institute, we apply Lean Six Sigma (LSS) in a way that has consistently yielded significant cost savings for our customers. We want your company to be among those that have achieved lower operational costs through LSS. For example, Lean Six Sigma has helped major corporations like Bank of America enjoy pre-tax savings of up to $1.85 billion over a decade of implementing LSS in information technology and fulfillment practices. We have helped small, mid-sized, and large businesses and government organizations enjoy dramatic savings year after year.
  1. Higher Productivity: No matter how efficient your company may be now, there’s always room for getting even better. You know the competition isn’t resting! Implementing Lean Six Sigma tools such as Poke Yoke (mistake proofing) and value-added/non-value added process analysis can help you fix processing problems, boost your process efficiency ratio, reduce rework, and make you more competitive.  The goal is always to do more while investing the same or less.
  1. More Predictable and Shorter Cycle Times: Understanding and controlling common cause variation and finding and eliminating the root causes of special cause variation are the heart of Six Sigma techniques.  Once you start using LSS tools for recognizing and controlling variation, you can say goodbye to frequent project deadline overruns. Working with BTI consultants, your team will quickly identify process performance issues that lead to unpredictable project cycles and eliminate them.
  1. Lower Defect Rates: High defect rates lead to lower productivity.  A typical way to improve productivity and quality simultaneously is to identify and correct the aspects of your process that generate defects. Using LSS in your company will help reduce your defect rate to the number that give “Six Sigma” its name—less than 3.4 defects for every one million units produced or service opportunities delivered. We’ll help you implement LSS tools like mistake proofing, work-in-process reduction, and the 5Ss to reduce the number of defects.
  1. Better Customer Satisfaction: A key aspect of LSS implementation is making Lean Sigma Sigma thinking part of your organization’s culture.  This equips every person in your organization with the tools needed to recognize and reduce variation and waste, all while understanding the Return-on-Investment relationship between your processes and how your organization defines success.  Training your people is central to achieving a LSS culture. Through our Lean Six Sigma training program, your employees can achieve Green Belt and Black Belt status. This will empower them to become better problem solvers. They’ll quickly start using their new skills to make positive changes, leading to improved efficiency, quality, delivery predictability, and customer satisfaction.

  • Green Belt: This course trains and certifies your employees to work on Six Sigma projects. It provides the statistical skills needed for process improvement.  The course prepares students for the American Society of Quality Green Belt certification test.
  • Black Belt: This course trains and certifies the craft masters and knowledge leaders of Lean Six Sigma projects.  The course prepares students for the American Society of Quality Black Belt certification test.
  • Lean Six Sigma for Engineering: This class is for those who need to learn the principles and methods used to design, develop, and implement engineering products (software, hardware, systems) in a Lean Six Sigma culture.  This class is helpful for organizations implementing a DevOps life cycle.
  1. Consulting and Implementation Support:
    • BTI consultants are American Society of Quality-certified LSS Black Belts.  We will help your organization reach it goals for quality, productivity, efficiency using Lean Six Sigma’s two improvement strategies:  DMAIC and DMADV.
      • DMAIC is an acronym used for the five phases of a data-driven quality and process improvement strategy for existing processes. We use this as a part of our Lean Six Sigma strategy for all-around process improvement. The five phases are:
        • Define: Detailed specification of the problem, project scope, improvement activities, project goals, and customer requirements
        • Measure: Well-defined metrics to measure and record process performance
        • Analyze: Careful study of the process to discover the principal causes of defects and variations
        • Improve: Boosting the performance of the process by dealing with and removing root causes
        • Control: Monitoring and modifying the improved process and enhancing future process performance
      • DMADV is an acronym used for the five phases of a data-driven quality and process improvement strategy for new processes.  The five phases are:
        • Define:  Define the project goals and customer needs
        • Measure:  Measure and determine customer needs and specifications
        • Analyze:  Determine the process options
        • Design:  Develop the details for producing a process able to meet the customers’ needs
        • Verify:  Verify the design against the requirements and validate it with customers

At BTI, our Lean Six Sigma experts are fully prepared to help you enjoy the many benefits of this process improvement technique. Give us a call today to discuss your needs and get a free consultation.
